Simple but delicious baked banana for a super easy Friday treat
Friday is about taking it easy. The last thing you want is to spend hours in the kitchen preparing something to crown you Friday meal. This simple idea will give you the break to spend time with your family and not so much kitchen duties.
You will need (per person):
1 ripe banana (skin well speckled with brown spots)
1 tsp honey
and a good pinch of ground cinnamon, to serve
1. Arrange the bananas (unpeeled as they are) on a baking tray lined with baking paper (or without if using glass or a ceramic dish).
2. Place the tray in a preheated oven and bake at 170 C for about 20 to 25 mins (while you eat your dinner for example), until the skin is glossy dark brown.
3. Place banana onto a plate, with a sharp knife cut the skin and open the top.
4. Drizzle with a little honey and sprinkle with some ground cinnamon. Enjoy!
Tips: You can sprinkle your baked banana with a pinch of ground vanilla for an aromatic flavour or some chilli flakes for little heat and fire. You can serve your baked banana with coconut whipped cream or nut ice cream if you fancy. For a VEGAN version use maple syrup instead of the honey.
